Community rules
1. Introduction
AnaChef is an Arab platform for sharing recipes and a love of cooking. These Guidelines exist to keep this platform safe, respectful, and useful for all users in Saudi Arabia, the Gulf countries, and beyond.
These Guidelines form an integral part of our Terms of Service (Section 6 thereof) and are to be read together with the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. By using the App, you agree to comply with them. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service prevail.
2. Our Core Principles
- Respect first: treat others the way you would like to be treated.
- Content is about cooking: AnaChef is a platform for sharing recipes and food content, not a forum for general discussions or debate.
- Authenticity: share your own content, and give credit where credit is due when quoting legitimately.
- Compliance with the law: users must comply with the laws and regulations in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and with public morals.
3. Prohibited Content and Conduct
The following may not be posted or shared through recipes, photos, comments, ratings, or profiles:
- Any illegal content, or content that violates the laws and regulations in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or public morals.
- Offensive or insulting content, or content that incites hatred, violence, or discrimination against any group.
- Harassment, bullying, intimidation, or defamation of any user or person.
- Impersonating others or providing misleading information about your identity or profile.
- Sexual or indecent content of any kind.
- Content that infringes the intellectual property rights of any party (such as copying others' recipes or photos and presenting them as your own).
- Unauthorized commercial advertising, promotional links, or repetitive unsolicited content (spam).
- Misleading health or therapeutic claims (such as describing a recipe as curing a specific disease).
- Any content that poses a safety risk (such as deliberately unsafe preparation steps, or harmful ingredients without warning).
- Collecting other users' data, misusing the App's features, or attempting to circumvent its systems.
4. Recipe Guidelines
- Post accurate, clear recipes, and verify the ingredients, quantities, and steps as much as possible.
- Include important warnings where needed (such as the presence of common allergens).
- Use photos that genuinely represent the recipe, preferably your own.
- Place the recipe in the appropriate category and use relevant tags.
5. Comment and Rating Guidelines
- Keep your comments constructive and related to the recipe itself.
- Rate recipes fairly based on your actual experience, not for personal reasons directed at their author.
- Do not use comments or ratings for harassment, abuse, or promotion.
6. Protection Tools Available to You
- Reporting: you can report any recipe or comment you believe violates these Guidelines, and our team will review the report.
- Blocking: you can block any user to prevent them from interacting with you, and you can unblock them at any time from the "Blocked Users" list.
Details of how these tools work and how their data is handled are set out in the Privacy Policy (Section 7).
7. What Happens in Case of a Violation
When a violation of these Guidelines is identified — whether through a report or by other means — the AnaChef team may take the action it deems appropriate given the nature and severity of the violation, including, without limitation: hiding or removing the content, restricting certain account features, or suspending or terminating the account, as set out in the Terms of Service (Sections 7 and 11).
These Guidelines do not oblige us to follow a specific sequence of measures; serious violations may result in immediate account termination.
8. Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these Guidelines from time to time as the community grows. We will notify you of any material changes through the App or via your registered email address, and the last-updated date will appear at the top of this page.
