I am a chef. In every Arab home there is a cook who deserves that title — and knowledge worth keeping. AnaChef is a community that begins with the Saudi kitchen, its mission extending to every Arab home: to celebrate home cooking and its people, to preserve the knowledge and memories their hands carry, and to open doors of opportunity for them.
The greatest kitchens are not in hotels
We believe the greatest Arab kitchens are not in hotels or cooking shows — they are in homes: in hands that know their measures without a scale, in recipes passed down through generations, in a table that gathers the family at the end of the day. Our mission is to preserve all of that heritage — the recipes, the techniques, the traditions, the vocabulary, the memories, and to give every home cook the standing they deserve. We are building the digital memory of Arab home cooking, and we begin where we stand: with the Saudi kitchen, in all its regions, diversity, and richness — because preserving everyone's memory begins with preserving one memory with the depth it deserves.
The first story is being written now
We are documenting Saudi home cooks and their dishes, story by story, from Hejaz to Najd to the South to the Eastern Province: the person first, then the dish, the region, and the memory it carries. The first story in this archive hasn't been published yet — it might be your story, or one of your parents', or your grandmother's or grandfather's.
